Hey fellow chemists!
Welcome to our chemistry blog. As Sara already explained below, it was inspired by our need to broadcast our nerdiness and general love of chemistry. As we've invited a lot of you to be contributors, we'd like to see some posts from you too!
Some possible ideas of what we'd like to do with this blog:
maybe a sort of series of why we love chemistry/why we chose this as our major
a little rivalry between specialties (Sam's thinking up top ten reasons why organic chemistry is the best)
random chem anecdotes, professor quotes, awesome XKCD cartoons, awesome original cartoons, etc.
interesting research, papers, articles you've found
posts on "you know you're a chemist if..."
info on grad schools
reminders on chemistry department events (seminars, Y Chem stuff, etc).
Anyway, that's just a basic list, but you're free to post on whatever you want so long as it's chemistry-related.*
Questions, comments, sarcastic remarks?
*We would however, like to refrain from posts bashing on specific teachers or classes, as anyone can read this. Just keep that in mind...
I think you seriously should discuss the accuracy of the chemistry as portrayed in "Chemical Calisthenics" by Blackalicious:
